Advice needed
Hello, I am 34 and pregnant with my 6th pregnancy. I have had 3 miscarriages and 2 live births. My new ob has me on Aspirin which I was on with my son and high doses of folic acid. However I have read that if I have MTHFR which I do along with prothrombin and Factor V Lieden that I shouldn't take folic acid as my body will be unable to metabolize it. Pregnancy is scary enough but worrying whether to or not to do something can make it worse. Any help or understanding you can impart would be greatly appreciated!

Congrats on your pregnancy!!

Yes, that's correct - you want to take methylfolate, preferably a prenatal that contains methylfolate and the active forms of all the other B vitamins. NOT high dose folic acid. Please see this article for more information:

Good luck!
